경기도 연천군 한탄강 유역에 차박러들의 성지가 있다고 해서 찾아 보았습니다. 찾아봤다기 보다고 유튜브에 검색 조금만 해도 수많은 영상들이 쏟아져 나옵니다. 놀자부부도 어엿한 차박캠퍼로서 한탄강을 한번쯤 다녀와야하지 않겠나?하는 생각을 벌써 예전부터 해오던 터였습니다. 하지만 강변 모래밭에는 사륜 자동차가 아니면 빠지기 일쑤라는 얘기도 들었던 터라 쉽사리 도전하고 있지는 못했습니다.
2025년 7월 놀자부부 차박 자동차가 9인승 카니발에서 7인승 트래버스로 바뀌면서 한탄강을 가봐야겠다는 생각이 다시 고개를 처들었습니다. 트래버스는 사륜(AWD) 자동차로 모래밭에 빠지지 않고 너끈히 다녀올 수 있을 거라는 믿음이 있었기 때문입니다.

I heard there was a mecca for car campers along the Hantangang River in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province, so I looked it up. More than that, a quick YouTube search yielded countless videos. As proper car campers, we’d been thinking for a while that we should visit the Hantangang River at least once. However, I’d also heard that the sandy riverbanks were difficult to navigate without a four-wheel drive, so I wasn’t ready to take on the challenge.
In July 2025, when the Noljabubu caravan changed from a nine-seat Carnival to a seven-seat Traverse, the idea of visiting the Hantangang River resurfaced. The Traverse, with its all-wheel drive (AWD), offered the confidence that it would be able to navigate the sand without getting stuck.
